Windsor Castle Park Foundation

Picture
The purpose of the Windsor Castle Park Foundation is to raise & maintain funds that will be used to promote and benefit Windsor Castle Park. Established in 2013 and approved as a 501c3 organization in the fall of 2014 the Foundation kicked off a campaign to raise $1,000,000 for the park.

The Foundation is managed or operates separately from Windsor Castle Park. Windsor Castle Park is own and managed by the Town of Smithfield under their Parks and Recreation Department.

The Capital Project Fund is for park assets that are outside the historic manor house easement. Current projects include: The Long Leaf Pine Park Addition, Maintenance Building and Additional Parking.

Winter Fundraiser

This year the foundation is selling ornaments and Long Leaf Pines! You can purchase them online or at the Christmas Home Tours.
If you purchase trees or ornaments online, the pick up date is December 11th from 10 am - 12 pm at Windsor Castle Park Barnyard
You can also purchase your ornaments and trees in person during the Christmas in Smithfield Home tour at Windsor Castle Park on December 4th and 5th.

Long Leaf Pines

Give the gift that will last a lifetime and support Windsor Castle Park --- a longleaf pine tree. Purchase one of these iconic species that was thought to be extinct.  We have a limited supply of trees for sale this holiday season.
Top Reasons to buy a Long Lead Pine this holiday season:
  • The Longleaf pine is the largest and longest-lived of the southern pine species
  • When the Jamestown settlement was established in 1607 there was over one million acres of longleaf pine trees in Virginia
  •  In 1893 they were considered extinct in Virginia
  • In 1938 several remnant stands of these original trees were discovered in Isle of Wight County
  • These trees were raised from seed obtained from those few remaining trees
  • Help bring back this iconic species by planting one or more on your property
  • Have a living Christmas Tree that everyone can enjoy for generations to come.
  • $100 for one tree, $75 each for 2 or more trees
  • The funds will help manage and expand the area set aside for longleaf pines in Windsor Castle Park
